As part of our school curriculum we are offering a free learn to swim and water safety program for students in years 2, 3 and 4. The Department of Education School Swimming and Water Safety Program in an intensive learn to swim program, which develops water confidence and provides students with basic skills in water safety and survival. The program is conducted over 10 days and each lesson is 45 minutes. Students do not need to have any swimming skills in order to participate. Students will be tested and grouped according to their swimming ability. They will then work with an instructor to develop skills appropriate to their needs and swimming ability.
Parent spectators are discouraged from attending, as students often perform better and have greater concentration when their parents are not watching.
Please be advised that due to time constraints and the children needing to be back at school, that purchases from the café are not available. Year 2 students will have recess at the usual time back at school. Years 3 and 4 students will be given a recess break on return to school. All students will have lunch at school at the usual time.
